Windows Update Quick Reference Guide
Step 1: Open Settings

Windows + Ito open the Settings app. -
Alternatively, click the Start button (Windows logo) in the bottom-left corner of the screen and select Settings (the gear icon).

Step 2: Navigate to Update & Security

In the Settings window, click on Update & Security (this option is usually at the bottom of the window).

Step 3: Check for Updates:

- In the Windows Update section (on the left), click on Check for updates.
- Windows will begin searching for any available updates. If any updates are found, it will start downloading them automatically.
Step 4: Download and Install Updates:

- If updates are found, Windows will automatically start downloading and installing them. This may take some time depending on your internet connection and the size of the updates.
Step 5: Restart the PC:

- After the updates are downloaded and installed, you may need to restart your computer. Windows will prompt you if a restart is required.
- To restart immediately, click Restart now. If you'd prefer to restart later, click Schedule the restart and select a time.
Step 6: Wait for Updates to Complete:

- After restarting, Windows will finalize the installation of updates, which may take a few minutes. During this process, your system may reboot several times.
Step 7: Verify Updates:

- Once the updates are complete, you can check again by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and clicking Check for updates. If everything is up to date, it will say "You're up to date."
